GMS operates a GE Minitrace cyclotron at the GMS Brisbane site in Kelvin Grove. Commercial supply of FDG is produced daily from a TGA licenced clean room, according to Good manufacturing Practice (GMP).
Our in-house QA team ensures FDG is produced to the highest levels of compliance and quality each day according to GMS SOP’s. The GMS Minitrace cyclotron recently underwent a comprehensive upgrade in order to ensure reliable, consistent production of F18 into the future. New niobium targets, ion source, water cooling system and software were installed as part of the cyclotron upgrade.
As PET continues to be a rapidly expanding area of GMS’s business, additional investment has also been made in a Trasis synthesis module, to ensure higher synthesis yields, so as to maximise the available activity from each production run. FDG is transported to PET sites utilising our network of GMS delivery drivers. All GMS drivers hold the necessary state licensing for transport of radioactive products and fully understand the operational, safety and patient-based requirements of on-time delivery to our clients.
GMS has the capability to supply FDG to all parts of Queensland on a daily basis in a reliable, safe, timely and cost-effective manner – we would be delighted to have the opportunity discuss your present and future FDG needs with you.
